The Ananthapuri Travel

Posted by happynuts on 7:15 PM in , , , ,
All were eager to see the needles in their watches to reach 12:30Pm... Oh god... the tight scheduled seventh semester B.Tech exams came to a much awaited end... Phew...!!!

After a few scheduling, re-scheduling & planning we reached Kabab restaurant at pattom to take our lunch & celebrate the day. Me, Seriene, Richard, Osti , Melvin & Sandy. After the lunch we dropped Melvin at Hostel & had to pick up Noble, who was standing at the PMG Bus-stop after a big THEPP from Richard... lol...

Then we headed towards EASTFORT in Ostinato's very own wagon(My car). Reached EASTFORT & parked the car inside GANDHI-PARK & as we were heading towards the bus-stop... Seriene, Sandy & Richard ran on seeing the Low-floor bus...

Yeah the Newly introduced KSRTC's lowfloor bus, riding on it was our "PLAN OF THE DAY". Those guys ran like small kids running behind ice-cream vans...!!! By the time we managed to reach the bus-stop, there were two buses one going towards Technopark-Kanniyapuram & Other towards kowdiar, even though i wanted to take Kowdiar bus, others insisted to take the other bus. So without much arguments we entered the bus.

Bought tickets to Kanniyapuram, the last stop, for 38 bucks...!!! Me,
Noble, Sandy & Osti stick to sit at front section(the low floor section) & Richard & Seriene moved to back seat(The upper section). On the way Mobin boarded from University, even though it was not a stop the conductor stopped the bus for us.

The Bus's worth 80 lakhs for that you can buy a Benz S-class, but you never expect such head-turning. Everybody's eyes are on the bus, from the small kiddies, ladies, motorists, old people each & everyone on the road cant take eyes out of the bus. Yeah the bus has "THE ENVY" factor, no wonder a KSRTC bus tried to hit the bus intentionally(FOR more details read METRO MANORAMA) .

The bus drove through university, GH junction, detoured from pallimukku towards Kannanmoola, through Medical college, ulloor, sreekaryam, Technopark & Finally reached kanniyapuram.

On the way at ulloor, the bus had a narrow escape from getting scratched, but an alto car had to face that brutal faith...!!!

We the reliable engineers on-board were closely examining & evaluating this engineering marvel from VOLVO. Starting from Driver's dashboard, it has almost all the controls of the bus. A camera at the rear, at the entrance, the clarity of the video is simply awesome. Infact it has the features of a luxury car on the dashboard. The seats are very comfortable, audio system, display panel etc... Should give 10/10 for the accessories in the bus. The conductor & bus driver were also friendly, they were sharing their experience in the new bus & was talking about the bus fares & all. For hospitality also 10/10.

From kanniyapuram we bought tickets back to EASTFORT. The bus started after a 10 minutes halt. The return journey was so romantic as it was raining outside. You can feel as if you are traveling in a SUV. The journey from kanniyapuram to Eastfort was 1 hour long. As per the conductor there are enough commuters in the bus all the time & 25% of people are like us who board to experience this new journey. As the bus is air-conditioned you wont feel tired even after a 2 & half hour journey...!!!

Better catch a seat infront, its like the business class with regard to comfort.

V for Vengeance

Posted by happynuts on 5:06 PM in
The gate was wide open & i was sitting inside the car. Just returned home & was getting out from the car. It was almost 8:15pm. There was no one in the road & KSEB street lights were flickering forming that extra topping to the Night scene.

I saw something moving into my car shed through the wide open gates. It was pitch black in color. I recognized the creature as it slowly came near to me. It was the black stray dog from my neighborhood, which has become a menace. It has already bitten many people & kids in my neighborhood. I slowly ran to backside of the car & searched for something big & heavy, finally my eyes caught a broken piece of brick & i didnt waste much time thinking. I Ran towards the beast, when the beast saw me with a brick in my hand. He realized what is going to happen next & ran away...

I threw the brick with maximum acceleration & BULLS EYE... it hit the beast with great precision...!!! Bingo...!!!

Happy saves the Neighborhood from the beast...!!!

Next day Morning...

When i got out of my house to take the newspaper, i saw that someone has messed up the garden & its evident that it has been done by a dog... The wounded beast has returned...The beast is still alive & has returned for vengeance...

& he has taken revenge on my slippers. One of the slipper is still missing... :(

Will he return???
Anyway his end will be in my hands... muhahahahahahaha...

Kerala Cafe

Posted by happynuts on 8:32 AM in
Kerala Cafe... A film with a difference... the word difference wont fit in aptly, its so vivid in every aspect of a film. A big experiment in the deteriorating Mollywood. An out of the box movie by Renjith & his friends.

The movie revolves around a cafe in railway station, named Kerala cafe. The movie has 10 parts or 10 short films all of them starts, ends or continues in this Kerala cafe. Lets have a look at each part of the movie

Nostalgia
Director: PadmaKumar
Lead Actors: Dileep & Navya

In this film Dileep plays a well settled NRI in dubai & has a wife & 2 daughters. His character is a selfish & cruel guy who has interest only in money. This story shows how he cheats & neglects others for the sake of making money.

Story is good, but Dileep's acting is waste & casting also not good.

Rating:4/10

Island Express
Director: Shankar Ramakrishnan
Lead Actors: Prithviraj, Jayasurya, Rehman, Manian Pilla Raju & Sukumari

Prithviraj is an Artist & is launching his book. He is launching it at a place & on such an date that every character of this film meet together. The movie shows how each characters played by Manian Pilla Raju, Sukumari & Rehman are attached to the specific date.

Prithviraj looks cool & also did his part well. Infact everyone did a great job. This one was a great relief after the crap Nostalgia.

Rating: 7/10

Lalitham hiranmayam
Director: Shaji Kailash
Lead actors: Suresh Gopi, Jyothimayi & Dhanya Mary George

Suresh Gopi is married to Jyothirmayi, Lalitha, but he falls in love with another girl, Hiranmaayi. He confesses about his affair to lalitha & its consequences forms the rest of the story.

Over acting by Suresh gopi & Jyothiirmayi & Poor direction. Shaji Kailash could have come out with an action movie

Rating:4/10

Mruthyunjayam
Director: Uday Ananthan
Lead Actors: Thilakan, Fahd Faazil & Reema

Fahad is the host of a TV show, where he shares his experiences about the spooky places in India. He comes to Thilakan to get the keys of a "Maanna", which is haunted. Rima is Thilakan's granddaughter.

Story isnt fresh, direction is average. Doesnt feel like an horror movie. But Rima's acting brings you goosebumps. Her character was totally unnecessay. Thilakan & Fahad have done justice to their roles.

Rating:5.5/10

Happy Journey
Director: Anjali Menon
Lead Actors: Jagathy Sreekumar & Nithya Menon

Jagathy is an all-time flirt who is travelling from Kochi to Kozhikode on the weekend. He creates discomfort for his co-passenger, Nithya. Story reveals as the journey advances.

Hats off to Jagathy for such a wonderful acting. Nithya, simply gorgeous & reminds you of Kanghana Rauhat. Anjali Menon, conveyed the message well in this short span of time

Rating:8.5/10

Aviramam
Director: B.Unnikrishnan
Lead Actors: Siddique & Swetha Menon

Siddique & Swetha are happy couple & Siddque owns an IT firm and is in a crisis after the recession. How they manage this situation is the story.

A well said story. Siddique did a well job.

Rating:7.5/10

Season
Director: Shyama Prasad

Lead Actors: Suraaj Venjaramood, Frank Pietropinto & Marie Muscroft.

Suraaj plays a local in kovalam who does anything to earn few euros. Story is what happens after he meets a Portuguese couple.

A comedy flick from Shyama prasad, very unexpected one. But he made it with a difference. Felt like watching a French comedy film. Music is very catchy. Shyamaprasad has utilised Suraaj's full potential.

Rating:7/10

Bridge
Director: Anwar Rasheed
Lead Actors:
Saleem Kumar, Kozhikode Santhadevi & Kalpana

Two stories are told simultaneously were a character from each story is a burden for their families & what happens to them is the story.

I just froze by the end of this film, such an heart touching story & well directed. The best movie out of the 10 films. Not a single flaw in the movie. Santhadevi was so natural, she reminded me of my great grandmother.

Rating:10/10

Makal
Director: Revathy
Lead Actors:
Sona Nair, Augustin, Srinath, Sreelakshmi & Archana

Story is about selling of girl child & about sex rackets.

Expected much more from the Director Revathy, but the work is good. The character played by the girls's mother did justice to the character by delivering her best.

Rating:7.5

Puram Kazhchakal
Director: Lal Jose
Lead Actors:Mammootty & Sreenivasan.

Mammooty & Sreenivasan are fellow travellers in a bus. Climax reveals the reason why Mammooty behaves strangely.

Mammooty did a splendid acting in the climax scene, else he didnt have much to perform. Lal Jose narrated the story in a novel way.

Rating: 7.5/10

Great effort by all the Directors & Technicians. A novel idea that should be well applauded. Best short film: Bridge Best Actors: Santhadevi(Bridge), The lady who plays the mother in Makal,
Jagathy Sreekumar & Nithya Menon (Happy Journey), Siddique(Aviramam), Boy in the film 'Bridge' & Prithviraj(Island express). Best Director: Anwar Rasheed (Bridge) Kerala Cafe worth watching...

Design of Machine elements

Posted by happynuts on 7:42 PM in
Time, 5 minutes past 9:30 am & i m five minutes late to the exam hall. The exam is on in the drawing hall, Room No.315. Kept my bag outside & entered the hall with a happy face, got the papers & walked towards my seat. Oh...!!! I remember this seat, this was my permanent seat during s4 drawing hours. Good to be back to my seat...

One hour before: Sitting on Sandy's bed, reading the DME-II's problem that was done in the class. Managed to read all the problems that was done in the class within a span of 1 hour...
Back to present:
Got the question paper & my eyes moved to the B-Part(Problems always comes in the B-part).
Answer any two questions from B-part(out of 3)

After reading the B-part I thought to myself,
at least i can answer 1 question correctly...

Great i'll do the question from Journal bearing & Ball bearing, dont even know from which part the other question came...!!!

All set... started with A-part
Answer Any 5 questions from A-part(out of 6)
Answered 3 & moved on the B-part...

Didnt even read the question, right away i picked up the Given data & wrote it...
& moved on to read the question. Oh god...!!! Screwed up... this is not the type of Ques i READ...!!! Kept the pen & Qp aside & had a look around...
Rilshid sitting with popped up eyes...!!!

Rizwan scriblling something very fast nervously...!!!(As usual)

Everyone around me are writing this stupid second series so seriously...!!!

Then my eyes met the scribblings i have done on the drawing table... Could find lots of HappyNuts on the table... my mobile numbers... my ex-gf's name... & much more... & I realised that i have done more scribblings on the table than i have done on the drawing sheets in S4...!!!

Slowly i came back to question paper &
the bulb lightened up...!!!
Voila...!!! I have cracked the question... Hurray...!!!

I jumped(literary), chair broke & i was in Air doing the balancing act...!!!
This balancing act made enough noises to attract the exam taker's attention...!!!

& there i stood embarrassed...

Blush... Blush...

Slowly got one extra chair & continued with exams cracking both the problems with correct answers...

At the end of the day, Happy Feels Happy after designing A journal & A ball bearing...!!!

The Rise of a RELIABLE Engineer...

Posted by happynuts on 9:57 PM in
It was few minutes past 11PM, was rolling from one side to other side of bed. Still not feeling sleepy...!!! Mercury level was pretty much high... i was sweating like hell. Just then something came to my notice, the ceiling fan is rotating at snail speed...!!! Oh crap...!!! Frustratedly i get up cursing the one who had kept the fan at low speed.

Tuck... Tuck... krrr... there I have the speed adjuster in my hand... & the fan comes to a halt... Oh no...!!! What have i done...!!!

Okay, pack up... let me go & sleep at some other room. Slowly i take my blanket and proceed to other room.

Wait a minute...!!! Why should i sleep in some other room leaving my favorite bed...??? After all i m almost an Engineer, let me fix it...

Happy the Engineer gets into work

First, rotated the knob with bare hands, result negative.
Second, rotated it with tongs(sneaked into the kitchen & took the tongs used for kitchen work), result still negative.
Where is the pliers??? Hmmm... must be somewhere in store room...
Third, tried with pliers, result still negative.

Oh mann... this knob is testing my patience...!!!

Happy's bulbs lightens up...

I got the solution, it has been an ultimate solution to many problems over years. Yeah... give a knock at the right place & it will work...

Bang... Bang... Bang...

Still, result is negative...

I think i have to conduct "An open heart surgery", have done many in my childhood, eventhough percentage of success is very less, but still thats the last option. Within minutes there i have the regulator totally stripped off...

A question popped up in my mind, how am i going to fix this one now???

Totally exhausted & drenched in sweat i lied down giving up... Its almost midnight and there is nothing i can do now. Better i quit now & go to sleep in some other room. I slowly went upstairs, then like a thunderbolt the image of few regulators flashed in my mind. I remember seeing two extra regulators somewhere in storeroom.

Now starts the Mission Regulator: Go... scan the store room and retrieve the regulator. Slowly i entered the store & started the search. After about 5 to 6 minutes of adventure in the kingdom of spiders & rodents i finally found THE REGULATORS. I felt as if i have found the Key to King Solomon's treasure.

Okay... now i have the regulator, but how am i going to connect it...??? What if it shortcircuits and everyone in house would be put into trouble or what if...???

Anyway i have two regulators, after all Daar ke aaghe Jeet hein...!!!
With all the confidence of a mechanical engineer i connect the wires & slowly switch on the fan, praying all the GODS in the world...

I felt the touch of a soothing breeze, for a moment i felt as if i was in a paradise... Hurray... Yippey... The regulator worked...!!!

Things to remember:
Solution to every problems in our life is always within our hands reach. Stay clam, focus & act rightly...

Twitting all the way...

Posted by happynuts on 4:06 PM in

"Absolutely, in cattle class out of solidarity with all our holy cows."

Over the past several days, Congress has been busy promoting its austerity drive with leaders flying in economic classes & traveling in trains. Our dear MP commented on this topic on twitter like this "Absolutely, in cattle class out of solidarity with all our holy cows." This comment created a Hullabaloo in our Nation, THE INDIA.

Here starts our so called "Political Masala Drama". Some catchy scenes and dialogues are
"Shashi Tharoor has insulted the people who fly in Economy class, by calling them cattle class and holy cows", Tharoor should resign as early as possible, Tharoor is accused of being insensitive to people’s sentiments blah blah...

Oh guys, come on... be practical...

Why are you targeting such a qualified minister, go & catch those people who dont even deserve to enter the Houses (Lok sabha & Rajya sabha). Do you really think all our ministers are cutting costs, who knows the truth...!!! Look How intelligently our PM has solved the issue. All you people reading this post, think and differentiate
between a slur and sense of humour.

All I wanna say to Tharoorji is " Twitt less, work more, everything will be forgotten"
