Make a difference

Posted by happynuts on 11:13 AM in ,
18th Jan 2009, day started normal. Sun rised from east, birds were chirping, suprabhatam was being played in some near by temple & i woke up at 5:45 am. Got ready & reached ashram by 7.

As usual Sreelal chettan was the first to reach & as usual was yelling i reached here by 6, i m coming 30 kms away, but those who are staying near by are the ones who always come late & blah blah... within another 20 mins alomst everyone reached & we headed to Eashwara vilasom(Its the residents colony in Vazhuthacaud, Trivandrum). We had a warm welcome by the executive committee of Eashwara vilasom residents association(EVRA). We waited for few others from our side & for the councilor in the meeting room/library, a car shed was converted for this purpose.

7:45 am the councilor inaugurated the function, our mission to clean the lanes of the largest residents association of tvm, comprising of 560+ houses & an awareness campaign. We entered the lanes equipped with broomsticks, pick-axes etc. We started cleaning the lanes, even the executive members were involved. We had a good back-up & motivation from colonel uncle. We started cleaning the lane no.19, just opposite Azad bakery. BY 8:30 we had our breakfast call.

We had nice idli-sambar-vada. After that we proceeded to lane no.18 & so on.
The executive members escorted us to everywhere, they made all the arrangements so that we got timely refreshments. We had good entertainment at times by Pru's PJ's, Roshan chethan's jokes & Visakh's mandhataram's which should be specially mentioned. Two other special members of EVRA who lend there helping hands were Meghna, colonel uncle's grand daughter, the beautiful young, naughty girl who followed us everywhere & did her best to help us. Second person is the Flirty president of EVRA, we had to suffer to his PJ's also...!!!

By around noon, the Asianet cable vision(ACV) news channel came for the coverage of our cleaning drive. All those who were lazying around till them, became very spontaneous & were not moving away from the camera(Lol... i m not gonna mention the names...;)). Then we had a small break at colonel uncle' house, spend some time talking & sharing his experiences & all. After that we continued our work. By around 2 we had cleaned each & every lane of EVRA. All were really tired & exhausted after the day's hard work, but all were content from what they have done.

After that we returned to ashram & proceeded to their respective places carrying a feeling, thats definitely hard to explain. Winners dont do different things, they do things differently.

A quest...

Posted by happynuts on 8:03 PM in ,
8th January 2009, 7 AM, at home:

Was reading the newspaper, came across the news that civil supplies minister says that there is no reason to panic we have enough stock of fruits, vegetables & all other essential commodities for the next 1 week. Hope the strike will be withdrawn soon. I thought what happens if its not withdrawn soon & stocks gets over.

1:15 pm, at a hotel in Kullathur:

I was having lunch with The pilgrim, suddenly my mobile rang. It was mom, she asked me to fill full tank petrol in Activa cos there is a shortage of petrol in the city, i took it casually and said ok. After lunch i dropped The pilgrim at home & was returning home, heavy traffic block at Kesavadasapuram. Somehow managed to tackle the traffic & crossed the Kesavadasapuram junction, i saw a huge number of cars, bikes & a big crowd infront of the petrol pump, even there were a of lot of police personnels. Out of my laziness i thought i will refill in the evening. Same scene was at pattom also. Reached home & had a nap.

6:10 pm, Pattom:

Started my activa & the indicator was pointing towards E( Less than half litre of petrol left in tank). Oh my god...!!! I must refill it now else i would have to push the Activa all the way to home. Thinking that i went to the petrol pump in pattom, not the same scene as it was in afternoon, but the density of people have increased a lot from what it was in the afternoon. I thought for a whie, there a lots of petrol pumps in the city na, so will get refilled from any one of them.

6:45 pm, Petrol pump at Althara Junction:

After visiting many petrol pumps in the city, i reached Althara junction. There was hardly any petrol left in my activa & if i didnt get the fuel from here, i have to push the vehicle from here. No way...!!! i will get the petrol from here, with this attitude i went inside. My jaws went down on seeing the long long queues of people standing with empty bottles & cans. On one side a big crowd of motorists & another side long queues of cars stretching for about a km. Another problem arise then they were giving petrols in bottles only & i dont have one. I stood there scratching my head, just then i happened to see an old friend of mine, some how with the help of that guy i got one bottle. Then i also joined the queue, just then a fight started between police & motorists. Then police dispersed the queue [people carrying the bottles] & started filling on the two-wheelers. Then another fight broke out & a new queue was formed & i was pushed back from my former position...!!!

After about 1 hour, i was still in the queue. The queue was hardly moving. The queue consisted of youngsters, auto drivers, office workers & all kinds of people. It was a nice experience waiting in the queue, i think i have never stood in such a queue for more than 10 mins. There were usual scenes of jump queues, exchange of words, small fights etc. People were really frustrated & agitated. Two wheelers were honking, people were also making sounds, passing out comments, those who got the petrol were celebrating like anything. The atmosphere was really at high energy level. At 1st they were giving people the amount of petrol they demanded, later it became Rs100, Rs80 & finally became Rs50 of petrol. At about 9, a few employees of petrol pump came & measured the stock of petrol left. Just 500 liters was left. I felt little satisfied to know that, cos i was 10th or 11th in the queue & there was cent percent chance that i would get 0.98 litres to reach back home. Finally by 9:20 i got the petrol , what a feeling it was...!!! I fled the scene as soon as possible and reached home.

Masakali

Posted by happynuts on 6:48 PM in
You must be wondering whats this Masakali is all about...!!! Hey guys its not any biscuit or any tropical island but its the title of a song from Delhi 6. Music by the Legend A.R. Rahman, Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra[Rang De Basanti]. Abhisekh Bachchan & Sonam Kapoor(beautiful young lady) are in the lead roles...

Let me come to the song, its a beautiful melodious song from ARR, first movie from him in 2009. The song has been pictured well in the busy walled city of Delhi, better known as Chandni Chowk. You can also see a lots of pigeons moving around in this song, which leads to another interesting thing about the song. Yeah its about the word Masakali, its the name of a pigeon. A.R.Rahman said it in an interview that this pigeon plays an important role in the movie, yeah its the Cupid's role.

Pigeon is a very cute & gorgeous bird, ofcourse every one would love to own one or see the beautiful flight of a group of pigeons. This bird has been used a symbol of peace & in olden days as a messenger. I wish i had a pigeon(as a messenger) as a substitute for the mobile...

So lets wait & see how the movie turns out. Its releasing somewhere in the mid of January. Till then Masakali... Matakali...

Guruji speaks...

Posted by happynuts on 6:21 PM in
First of all a Happy new year to all...

2009- The year of OX, The basic characteristic of an Ox is methodical and calm, hardworking, dependable and patient, materialistic and an ambitious character.(Says Chinese) Lets see whats in store for us in this year.

Following is a speech Given By Sri Sri Ravisankar on 31st december 2008

"
The last hour of 2008. The time on this planet for us is a gift. Time is a gift to ourself. When we consider time as a gift our whole outlook towards life shifts. Like every year,2008 also has offered you many gifts. With it’s thorns it has made you strong, with its petals it has given u joy.

Any event has the good and not so good. The not so good has made you strong and realize you can handle it. Good part gives you peace and tranquility. This Last hour is good to reflect how you welcomed 08 when it came and how it swept you and swirled you and passed you on to 09.

2008 has made many rich people poor. Those who never thought they could come down from their ivory towers had to smell mud. Many who have cheated got exposed. The flaws of capitalism laid bare before our eyes in 2008, like 20 years ago, in 1989 the bubble of communism burst.

Through all this time we learned one lesson- we should never compromise on human values. Love, compassion, sense of gratefulness and vision for everyone has to dawn in our life.

2008 also saw terrorism, loss of life, Sudan, Iraq, Gaza, India had the worst ever terror attacks.

2009 we have a great responsibility to uplift the planet from the ashes of the disasters of 2008. New hope, new creation has to made.

It is easy to get swept away in a negative mode. It takes courage to move out of it. I am sure all those who are here have this capacity … And all those who are listening (and reading this) also have that capacity ..."

Taare Zameen Par

Posted by happynuts on 5:23 PM in
Its all about what happened in the year 2008, so called year of RAT...!!! The year began & ended with university exam.
2008 saw the stock markets crash like anything, price rise, recession, terrorist attack, Obama won the elections, our own government had a trust vote, India won its 1st individual gold medal in Olympics & much more, lets keep these things aside for now.

The 2008 was really an unforgettable year in my life. Break up of my 1st love[ Infact she dumped me], which really shattered me like anything. Turned me into a DEVDAS [Dont think that i touched alcohol] , growing beard & roaming gloomy. This incident helped me realize that my friends really cared for me. I learned what friendship is. It was my friends who helped to pull me back to normal, then there is no looking back, life became a celebration.

Another person who came into my life in 2008 is Enrique Iglesias, yeah dont scratch your head its the Madrid-born, Miami-raised singer. I became a great fan of him. Its pilgrim who gave me his albums during the time I was so called DEVDAS. My favourite is "SOMEBODY'S ME..."

Well the year began with 3rd semester university exams, which were supposed to be get postponed, but that didnt happen. The whole of January was immersed in exams. New FM stations were launched during Jan-feb, was really addicted to FMs for a few days. Was a frequent caller to BIG FM. Had no regular classes in college cos of Strike on ARJUN issue. March was full of college fests Niravaana, El- Feugo, Aganeya,Tejasvi, Tech fest in lbs, Ragam 08 etc... i didnt miss any of those . Then came 1st series in the mid of march.

Ragam 08 was really a great experience, participated in almost all kinds of events, even though i didnt get any prizes. Pro-show was awesome, Karthik's performance. Had a superb night dancing & having fun. Most memorable thing in ragam was going in search of a girl as a partner for the DJ nite[ Dj nite, only couples were allowed], was really lucky cos i didnt get any partner & finally they allowed singles also. But i got a Dance partner once i got into Dance floor, its none other than Ajuna chechi[ Archana's senior. I realized the fact that she was older than me only after 3 months...!!!]. Those 3 days spent at NITC will be teasured among the golden days of my college life.

Then came April, i joined gym with a dream to develop a six pack abs. Got selected as s4 representative of Mechanical engineers association [MEA]. Had many events in college like electronite, mexx nite, LH day, MH day etc didnt miss any of those events also.

Our semester break started in may. May month brought a turning point into my life, i happened to join Yes Plus[ A course in Art of living(AOL)]. This course really taught me what life is & how to live a happy life. Had a great experience in doing such a course. Successfully organized school reunion(Science batch), over coming many obstacles. Many were meeting after 1 year gap, everyone were happy & parted to meet again next year.

College reopened after sem break in June. I was running as if my tail was on fire cos of labs, submissions, drawing sheets, series & everything. In july, had a nice birthday. Then came my 3rd sem results & i flunked. But i never gave up, worked hard for the exams. Again july & august was amidst exams. 5th sem classes started by aug end. The fight between MHites[ Mens hostelers] & Day scholars ended up in 2 weeks onam vacation.A Thought came of entering into blogging world, got nice response from blogging. So turned into a Blogger. In october came Geared 08, the auto expo from Mechanical Branch of CET.

Then came november, after all the strikes, fests & all kinds of stuff it was time for regular classes. I happened to fall into magazine committee, so rest of the month i was glued to magazine work. December, the month of cakes & christmas turned out to be month of exams.

Year 2008 gave lots of friends, happened to get in touch with long lost friends, enemies became friends, discovered the writer & photographer in me. Finally 2008 bid farewell, giving lots of happiness, sadness, memories, inspiration & dreams to be full filled in the coming years...

I miss you 2008

The Warrior who cried

Posted by happynuts on 8:09 AM in ,

Here comes the first independent poem from Think factory of H@pPy NuTs. Right from the heart. So kindly bear the mistakes of this NEW BORN POET...

Tears Flowed from the
brownish eyes,
Rolled over the
bearded cheeks,
Slowly fell on the paper
and blurred the letters...

Never have i seen
a warrior crying....
Shattered was his heart...
The heart made of stone.
The hands were trembling,
never was the sword shaken
chopping the enemies...

Never have i seen
a warrior crying...
The man had lost his love...
She had gone forever
Never shall she return...

Never have i seen
a warrior crying...
Conquered in life,
not by war,
but by the eternal love...

Never shall the man be WARRIOR again...

It takes a lot of imagination to be a good photographer.
You need less imagination to be a painter because you can invent things.
But in photography everything is so ordinary,
it takes a lot of looking before you learn to see the extraordinary.

Pain

Posted by happynuts on 8:59 PM in ,

Nobody’s life is entirely free of pain and sorrow. Isn’t it a question of learning to live with them rather than trying to avoid them? The greater part of human pain is unnecessary. It is self-created as long as the unobserved mind runs your life. The pain that you create now is always some form of nonacceptance, some form of unconscious resistance to what is. On the level of thought, the resistance is some form of judgment. On the emotional level, it is some form of negativity. The intensity of the pain depends on the degree of resistance to the present moment, and this in turn depends on how strongly you are identified with your mind.

Light House

Posted by happynuts on 8:30 PM in

I love everything about lighthouses
their daymark, their coastal locations
the style of tower, the keepers dwelling
the way they endure the powers of nature.
Most of all, I love their light, bright, seen from far sight
a sense of safety no matter how dark the night.

Its beautiful when the cloud cries...

Posted by happynuts on 6:46 PM in , ,

Mobile sings… the song Gujarish{From Ghajini}. Lazily I move my head out of the blanket, jus like a tortoise popping his head from his shell ;). I sit up & pray that atleast 2day I can breathe normal, had running nose for the last two days. I think my nose has lengthened by 1 inch…!!! Wet handkerchiefs & tissues all around my room…!!!

Thank god…I m breathing normal, but… I got a sore throat… Oh no…!!! I cant sing today… { Jus joking, lol…) Oh forgot 2 check my mob, its morning wish from my FRIEND & when I checked the time its 8. Today I m very late, let me get down before dad comes back from yoga. While coming down, dad is already back from yoga & is reading the newspaper. He turned towards me, locked his eyes & said I think you are not doing your yoga & meditations regularly that’s why you are falling ill. I replied fast I don’t get time [ The most silliest excuse in the whole world…!!!] No reaction from him, he continued reading the newspaper, must have thought its wasting time arguing with me…!!!

I went to kitchen mom was busy cooking something. She said take the milk from fridge, I will boil it for you. I said I don’t want milk today, let me have a coffee today & I went to do my routine, when I came back after 20 mins, my coffee is ready. I went to my room & opened the balcony.

I switched on my play list, the song Annul maele paani thulli [from vaarnam aayiram] was playing. Wow what a song…slow, melodious, romantic song. The meaning of the lyrics is like this snow flakes over the fire, wandering bird, rain drops searching for the tree & goes on. Does that make any sense??? Anyway it’s a nice song, who is bothered to find its meaning…!!! Its raining very heavily & looks very beautiful to watch nature having a hot cup of coffee. Raindrops falling from the trees, leaves & newly bud flowers, naughty boys playing in the pool of water, school children going to school wearing raincoats, birds singing in praise of RAIN GOD watching these as the gulp of hot coffee moves down your sore throat, what a feeling!!! Its hard to express…

I took my mobile & messaged my FRIEND. You feel very good when you share your happiness.
